Squirrel Glitch is where Doug keeps the working notes from experiments that were worth measuring: running open-weight models on consumer GPUs, wiring AI coding agents into a pipeline that has to earn every merge, and the shop hardware that makes it go.

Every research page states the hardware it ran on, what was measured, and how. Where there are numbers there is a method next to them. Where something was not tested, the page says so rather than guessing.

The research pages are written as the work happens and published here verbatim — the same document that was used to make the decision, not a write-up produced afterwards. The site itself is a static build from a private repository; nothing here runs server-side.

The code is on GitHub as freePerro. The main public project there is gdx_dispatch, a self-hosted field-service management platform — dispatch, estimates, invoicing, payments, payroll — built on the principle that you should own your data rather than rent access to it. Much of the research here feeds that work: the local models get tried on its codebase, and the agent pipeline earns its keep by landing pull requests against it.
